InStyle Stamps Christmas In July Hop

Hi all!  I hope you hopped here from Taylor’s blog.  If not, go back to the InStyle Stamps blog so you can see all the fun projects today.  Our theme is Christmas in July.  I am happy to announce that I now have 6 Christmas cards ready to go in December.  :)

Here is my card:

I’m not sure if you can see it, but I added some gems in the center of the flower.  I thought it gave the card a little extra bit of punch. Here is a close up so you can really see the gems.

This image is wonderful for making some quick cards.

Now hop on over to Cathy’s blog to see what she has done and keep on hopping all the way to the end for a surprise :)

Friday Fun School Spirit

Since back to school is just around the corner (Yippee) Sherry asked us to make a card using our High School or college colors.  Unfortunately, both my schools shared the same colors, brown, orange and white.  The good news is that I could make a fun fall card.

I used Jocelyn from InStyle Stamps to create this card.  She is such a cutie and a fun image to color.  I used BasicGrey Indian Summer and a few buttons and flowers to add to this card.

Please be sure to check out the other Friday Fun Chicks.

    Royal Kat Tuesday-Cupcake Inspiration

You should have hopped here from Keely's blog, if not you will want to go back to Queen Kat Designs Blog to be sure to check out all the wonderful things the Design Team has done this week.  This is inspiration week and our inspiration this week is CUPCAKES.  Any cupcakes.

Here is the inspiration I used:

    IMG_0286

Those were the mini brownie bites I made for my girl’s Birthday in February.  I like the confetti sprinkles and the soft colors.

I once again used Build A Bird and embellished with Happy Stixx I colored with my ink pad.

This is my last hop with Queen Kat.  I want to take a minute to thank Vicki and the designers for a the opportunity to work with them the past 6 months.  I have learned a lot and have grown as a card maker.  I wish you all the best of luck in your future endeavors.

Now hop on over to Erika's blog to see what she has done this week and wish her a fond farewell as well.  Be sure to go to the Queen Kat Designs Store to check out the new stamp lines.

Friday Fun in the Summer Sun

Good morning and happy Friday.  This week our challenge was to create a card for summer party or cook out.  PERFECT!  I am going to spend the day poolside today and I’m going to a party tonight.  :)
Here is my card using Beach Dude from InStyle Stamps.  I also used several of the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges on this card.

    And a close up.

I used some fun paper from Queen and Company that I just got this week from my LSS.  I cut out one of the beach balls and mounted it on a jumbo brad and covered it with a thick layer of Crystal Effects to make it shiny.  I made my flowers using some old plastic packaging that I cut using a flower die in my Cuttlebug.  I used my Cricut to cut the ovals I matted the Beach Dude on.  I found the little vacation ribbon slide in my stash.  It came with some summer ribbon, but the colors didn’t match, so I searched through my ribbon supply to find the polka dot ribbon from May Arts.   Over all I think he came out pretty cute.
Please be sure to check out the other Friday Fun Chicks.

Royal Kat Tuesday--Red, White and Blue

Welcome to another Royal Kat Tuesday.  You should have come here from Keely's blog, if not, you will want to go back to the Queen Kat Designs Blog

This week we have our Color Challenge to share with you.  Our colors this month are Red, White and Blue.  When I think of this color combo I think of Memorial Day, July 4th, parades and fire works.  I decided to do a scrapbook page as something a little different.

I used the “Birds of a Feather” set and more Happy Stixx on my project.  This time I used the printed word “Dad” and the ends of other sticks I used to write the labels for the other pictures.  The pictures were from our Memorial Day Parade this year and the sentiment reads “That noise you hear is the sound of freedom.”  I think it fits this page perfectly.

Now hop on over to Erika's blog and don’t forget to stop at the Queen Kat Designs Store to check out the new lines of stamps.

    Friday Fun with Chloe

Happy Friday everyone!!!!  I am so excited.  This has been a fabulous week with all the new releases from InStyle Stamps.  I have just a couple more left to show you.  Since today is Friday it is also Friday Fun Challenge.  This week we were to CASE the first card on our blog.  Wow, that was a long time ago (in stamping years.)

    Here are my cards:
    HannaJimmiChallenge
Using “Tis The Season To Be Pretty” now available at Amber Ink

And now using the adorable Chloe’s Christmas Tree.  I changed a few things up a little, but that’s what CASEing yourself is all about.  I used the same Cuttlebug Snowflake folder on both cards, but this time I also added details with the Martha Stuart Snowflake border punch.  I used the punched out snowflakes as an embellishment on the image and added rhinestones to the centers.  I think Chloe is sparkled up and ready to go.
I would love to see what you do with the first card on your blog or gallery.  Be sure to leave a link here in the comments if you play along so we can see what you did.
Be sure to leave some love for the Friday Fun Chicks:
DON’T FORGET!!!  There will be a party tonight over at Paper Craft Planet to celebrate Chloe and all her new friends being released today by InStyle Stamps.  Be sure to swing bye and say “Hello” from 7pm-Midnight Eastern Time.  There may even be some games and prizes for you :)

    A Sweet Stylin’ Treat

Ho ho ho!  Merry….July?  OK, I know we have quite some time before the snow begins to swirl and our credit cards start smoking from all our purchases, but we have pulled out the Holiday images a little early with InStyle Stamps.  Today we have switched from Halloween images to Christmas.  My first Christmas card of the year is finished and I think it may just go to the Big Guy himself.

The image is so cute and easy to color I didn’t want to fuss it up too much, so I just left this card a bit on the simple side, but I think it works.  Maybe I need to look for some little cookie shaped brads?  Wouldn’t that be adorable in the corners?

I hope you enjoyed today’s peaks.  Don’t forget tomorrow is new release day!!!  We will be partying over at Paper Craft Planet.  Come join us in the InStyle Stamps group. We will have games, a challenge and some prizes too.  Invite your friends!!!!

    Operation Write Home Midweek Throwdown

Hi all.  I have a very exciting post to share with you today.  I have a couple of my cards over on the Operation Write Home (OWH) Stars and Stamps blog today.  This week’s challenge is to make cards suitable for our Hero’s to mail home to kids.  I usually try to include several of these in may packages that I send, because I know how much the kids really appreciate getting cards when Mom or Dad are far away from home.

I used two of the Chloe images from InStyle Stamps, Cupcake Chloe and Fairy Chloe,  and OWH S&S Sketch #8.

Let’s see what kind of kids card you can make.  Be sure to provide a link to your work on the Stars and Stamps Blog.

Thanks for stopping bye.  I’ll be back at 3:00 with more InStyle Stamps samples.

    Royal Kat TUESDAY

Welcome to Royal Kat Tuesday Blog Hop!  If you are starting here, you need to go back to Queen Kat Designs Blog and start at the beginning to see what everyone else has created for you.  You should have landed here from Keely's blog.

We have a fun sketch to work with today and here is my take on it.

I used the Birds of a Feather stamp set today and my Craft Stixx.  I love little lady bugs.  We call our youngest our LOVE BUG and she has lots of lady bug accessories, so this card would be perfect for her birthday.  The Craft Stixx are so much fun.  I ran mine across a white craft pad to change the color to go with my black and white card.  I also scored the the stick with my craft blade and then snapped off the end so the stick was the perfect length.  I think these are one of the coolest products I have seen in a while.  They are a fun way to add a sentiment to your card.

Now hop on over to Erika's blog and check out the Queen Kat Designs Store to pick up some new Rubbah!  The Queen Kat Vicki has been working on several new lines of stamps.

    Friday Fun--Rock On

Hello!  What a week we have had.  This week there are only a couple of us playing along.  As a group we have a new job, new house, one hubby's birthday, one kids birthday and it is flipping HOT!!!!  So forgive us for the shortened hop this week.

Our theme was to make a Birthday card for a young man.  Personally, I think this is the hardest theme out there.  So, here is my attempt at a young mans card.

    Stamps: Unity KOTM April 2010
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, White, Rockstar Stack
    Ink: Rich Cocoa-Memento, Copic Markers
