Fun Fold Friday Fun

Say that title 3 times fast.  I am very excited today.  I am going to see two of my wonderful Sassy Sisters today.  I am on my way to see Jimmi and Sherry for the weekend.  Hooray!  Since I am not packed yet and want  to be on the road soon, let me make this quick.  Our challenge was to make a card with a fun fold, no ordinary top or side folding cards this week.  I decided I wanted to make a pocket card and here is the result:

I used the August Kit of the Month from Unity and Olivia paper from BasicGrey.

Even Molly needs a list

Every good shopper needs to keep a list with her.  I know with the Holidays around the corner I will need to know all my niece’s and nephew’s sizes, what toy they want or which gift card they will use most.  It’s nice to have a little notebook with you so that whenever you are out you have all the information with you.

I like to attach a ribbon in the back of my notebooks so that it can be used as a book mark to find the newest list or the priority note you have in your book.  I glue it to the back cover and then it can flip to whichever page it needs to save.

Have a great day!

FFC Shopping Day!!!

Hello!  It’s Friday and it is a super fun challenge today.  This week I wanted to try something different from our usual challenges.  I wet shopping and sent a supply kit to each of the Friday Fun Chicks.  Here is a photo of the kit:

Supply challenge supplies

Included in the kit was:

The challenge is to use this kit to make our cards this week.  It will be interesting to see how we can each come up with something different when we have access to the same supplies.

Here is my card:

Virginia at InStyle Stamps was very gracious to allow us to use Molly for our projects today.  I had to pick this image since she reminded me of our very own Sassy Sister Jimmi at Stamping and Shopping.  How perfect is that?  I made sure to give her dark hair like Jimmi too.  Hehe.

I participated in the following challenges:

Eat Sleeps Stamps #97- Sketch

Charisma Cardz Challenges #33 -  Die Cuts

Please be sure to check out all the projects from the Friday Fun Chicks:

Make sure to stop bye Paper Craft Planet tonight at 7pm Eastern for some chatting and fun with the InStyle Stamps Design Team for our Release Party.

Hang in There – New Release from ISS

Hey all!  It’s Release Week at InStyle Stamps Blog and today I am showing off a project I made using Hang in There.  This digital image will be available in the InStyle Stamps Store TOMORROW!  Woohoo!

I made this name frame for one of my twins  to go over her bed.  The old name plaque I had for them was Noah’s Ark and they are “Big Girls” now, 4 years old, so it is time for something new.  Reganne is all about Pink and Polka Dot’s and her favorite animal is a monkey.  I have had to hide this from her for now, until I can get one finished for her sister, but that one will have Ellie the Elephant on it and more purple.  I am thrilled with the way this came out.  The spacing between the a and the n was perfect for the little vine to span.

Be sure to join us tomorrow night at Paper Craft Planet for our Release Party.

InStyle Stamps Color Challenge

This week is our color challenge at the InStyle Stamps Blog.  We were to use the colors in this piece:
pear-lemonfizzies color inspiration
Don’t those drinks look yummy.  I don’t even know what is in them and I want one to cool me off.  Here is my creation:

I used the following challenges:
Polly Craft Monday Challenge-Stitches
The Pink Elephant- "Ribbon & Sparkles"
Stamp With Fun- sketch

This image is called BUZZ!  It’s a wonderful summer flower image.  This image will be available in the InStyle Stamps store on Friday August 20.
We would LOVE for you to play along with us!! All you have to do is make a card with our color combination -- you don't have to use an InStyle image but we would certainly like to see one if you can - and link it here no later than September 7. That's a LOT of time to play!
We'll announce a winner on September 8, and you'll receive digi images if you win!! Here's the neat part - if your name is drawn and you DID use an InStyle image, you'll win 4 digis from us. If you didn't, you'll win 2. So lets' see those InStyle images!

Don't forget to join us this Friday at 7 pm Eastern Time over at Paper Craft Planet for our release party.

WOW!!  What a coincidence.  This week the ladies at the Play Date Cafe happen to be using the SAME photo for color inspiration.  It was totally by chance that this happened.  Be sure to stop bye and check out their creations as well Play Date Cafe PDCC43

FFC-Camping Out

Hi all!  My vacation is coming to an end.  I will be camping out tomorrow night in my brother's back yard and then heading back home.  Since I will be "roughing it" I decided on a color challenge this week for our challenge.  I asked the FFC Chicks to make a card using browns and greens.  Here is my card, using the July Unity KOTM.

Yes, I took the pic on my dashboard.  The things you do on vacation.  I will be back next week with better photos and more info.

Make sure you check out the other Sassy Friday Fun Chicks.

InStyle InSpiration Wednesday

Hey all.  It’s InSpiration time at the InStyle Stamps Blog.

The inspiration piece:

nursery-wall-decor-idea-300x299

And my project using the digi image Hanna.

I apologize for the poor picture quality, I will get a better one later, but this is the best I could do for now.  I think you can at least get the idea.  I took my inspiration from the colors and the rough layout of the picture.  Make sure to check out what everyone else has done.

We would love to have you play along with us.  You can use any images you like to enter.  If the winning entry used an InStyle image you can win 4 images of your choice, if you used another image you will win 2 images.  Just add you link to the InStyle Stamps Blog

All the new releases including Hanna here will be released at the InStyle Stamps Store on Friday, August 20.  I’ll be back next week with a lot more samples and we will be having a release party on the 20th at Paper Craft Planet.  Be sure to stop bye and see us.

Hand Drawn Garden

Happy Friday!  Yay!!!  It’s time for another Friday Fun Challenge, and this month it is my turn to host.  This week I decided to make the girls work extra hard.  The challenge is to include a hand drawn element on your cards.  Remember back in the day when we didn’t have all the fun borders and sentiments and printing anything digitally was just crazy talk.  Ahh…back in the days of 2007, hehe.  Here is my card with a hand drawn stitch border (because I still don’t have a sew mini) and some fake dew drops.

So, how do you draw dew drops?

You start with making dots of color with your markers so you know where you want the dew drops to go.  Then you apply a drop of Crystal Effects on top and let it dry over night.  Lastly, you can add more color over the top of the CE.  That easy.

Make sure you check out the other Sassy Friday Fun Chicks.

    Sketchy Wednesday

Hi all.  I have a quick little project for you today.  It is the first Wednesday of the month which means it is Sketch Time over at the InStyle Stamps blog.  This month we not only needed to follow the sketch, but we also had to make our card an easel card.  I was a little scared at first, but really these are easy cards to make.  You can check out the tutorial at Splitcoast Stampers for details.

I used cute little Ellie for my card today.  I love those big eyes.  This could be a great card for “I’m Sorry” or for a kids birthday.  I just had to paint Ellie’s nails, it was only fair, I have done all 3 of my kids toes last week, I got a pedi last night, so Ellie certainly needed to join in the fun.

In addition to using the sketch from InStyle Stamps I have also made this card for

    Cupcake Craft Challenges – Distressing

The Crazy Challenge – Olive, Fuchsia, Teal

Cinema Saturday – Bling and Sparkle

Stars and Stamps - Patterned Paper

I frayed my ribbon a bit to add to the distressing.  Tell me what you think? I used the new Olivia paper from BasicGrey which went perfectly with this image and also worked great with The Crazy Challenge this week.  I followed the lines of the paper and hand cut my own scallop for the panel on the left edge.

Ellie and some of her friends will be available for purchase at the InStyle Stamps Store on August 20th…..and the best part is that she is a digi image so you can start playing with her right away.
