Advent Calendar

Some of you may know that I was working on an Advent Calendar project using mini muffin tins.  What I thought was going to be a quick cute little project became a massive undertaking.  Part of that is because I decided to use my Cricut to cut the shapes of the magnetic covers, and part of it is because between my friend and I we made 6 of them.   So here are some pictures of my little project.

This is the full view.  I had to use LOTS of ribbon :)

This is a close up of the top rows

And the bottom rows

Super Close up to show that I went around each number with the gel pen to add a little extra pop to it.

Each day has a Hershey Kiss or a Reeses Peanutbutter Bell behind it.  My girls have split up the days by Red Days and Green Days who gets to open it :)  That works now, but once the baby gets in on the action we may have problems.

What do you think?

  1. I think it's fab!

Of course I am the friend who was dragged into - I mean enthusiastically joined in on - this "little" project!

It was a ton of work but they do look wonderful! (Even if Owen opened all the days, and ate all the candy, by day 8)

  2. Awesome! I have a friend that only puts the treat in the night before so that there is no way the kids can open it early- but I am NOT that organized!

My kids are currently taking turns opening up the Lego advent calander...it takes a lot of patience to wait three days-or so they say. ;)
