Friday Fun #55

Sorry this is so late in the day.  I don't know where the morning escaped to.  First off I would like you to join me in saying hello to our newest Friday Fun Chick Christi Snow.  You can visit her blog to see her amazing work at: http://www.alteredambitions.blogspot.com/

This week our challenge was to make a card using BROWN, ORANGE, PURPLE and GREEN.  To make it a step harder it was NOT to be a Halloween card.  I think I pulled it off quite nicely.  And look, no embellishments and limited layering!  I am SOOOOO proud of myself.

Friday Fun #54

This week our challenge is to think outside the box, or more actually about a box.  We had to make a box instead of a card.  I used the Tutorial found on SplitCoastStampers for a Box in a Bag.  I just got my latest order from Inky Impressions and had planned to make a little gift for a friend of mine this month, so this project all come together nicely.

Aren't these the cutest socks?  I got them at BJ's for myself a while back and went back and bought more as gifties because I LOVE them so much.  I think it is a simple and cute way to show support, and I love wearing cute socks.  My twins will actually pick out my socks for me in the morning, and if any of these are in there that's what they will pick.

This is the cute little package I made for them.  They fit perfectly and I will probably go add some pink candy before delivering the package.

There she is, my cute little Lili packaging up the socks.  Normally I would say that the pinks do not all match and would shy away from combining them, but when it comes to Pink Ribbon projects anything goes.  Let's get a closer look at the details on Lili.

I highlighted her headband and buttons and the ribbon with the stardust gel pen.  You can see all the great details in these stamps.  It makes them absolutely adorable and it also means that it takes a while to color, but that's ok.  They are just too cute.

Stamps:  A Year of Leaves-GinaK
Paper:  White, Soft Suede, Crushed Curry,
Ink: Momento Rich Cocoa, Copic Markers
Accessories:  Brown Polka Dot Ribbon (reversed)-Offray, Copic ABS, Eternity Template-The Crafter's Workshop

ETA:  Please forgive me for not going into detail about how I made the card last night, it was late and I was wrestling a migraine.   I colored the leaf with my Copics on Sunday when I colored the leaves for my last card, then I cut it out last night.  I pulled out my Copic Airbrush System (ABS) to color the sentiment panel because it looked weird being the only white on the card.  Since I already had the ABS pulled out and I didn't have any good fall decorative paper (actually NO fall paper)  I decided to pull out one of these templates I bought and have not used yet.  I airbrushed a few different colors of marker over the template and layered it on my card.  The ribbon I used is actually polka dotted, but the great thing about printed ribbon is that the back is solid, so I just flipped it over.

Crazy 4 Thanksgiving

I got to sneak in a card this afternoon while hubby is away.  The Fort Meade ladies had issued a challenge to do the shaving cream technique and the Crazy 4 Challenges this week was to make a Thanksgiving card in honor of Thanksgiving in Canada this weekend, plus I just got an order from GinaK on Friday, so I HAD to play.

These are the reinkers I used to make my background:

I had fun making the background paper with the shaving cream technique.  I made 12 quarter sheets and since I don't have any autumnal colored dsp don't be surprised if you see them used quite a bit the next couple of weeks.

Under the Wire

I was able to sneak in 2 more cards tonight for the World Card Making Day Challenges.  I got the last one uploaded to Splitcoast at 11:59 pm after having to reboot my computer and fighting with my photo editing software.  Phew!

The first card is for the challenge presented by My Favorite Things to use the colors Pink and Black and to add some bling to your card. I wasn't able to get my computer and my printer to play nice so I could print the free digi stamp from MFT, so I used a very similar stamp by Elzybell instead.

More WCMD Cards

I am having fun stamping the day away and thought I would show you a couple more cards for today's challenges.

WCMD09C
This card is for Stamping Bella's WCMD Challenge:
Challenging you to show me what you and your girlfriends do to have some fun! For an extra bit of flair, throw in some some 1980's-ish colors and/or DP!

I love to get together with my friends to stamp. You can often find the Team Fort Meade girls having a mini SBS. The pink and gray are my 80's color combo and if you look at the dp it has some big pearly paisleys in the background. I can see that as wall paper in the dining room of any one of my relatives homes.

Stamps: Stamping Bella
Paper: Going Gray, Pretty in Pink, White, DCWV Old World DP
Ink: AMuse Black, Copics
Accessories: Gray Ribbon-Offray, Adhesive Gems-EK Success

WCMD09D

This card is for the WCMD09D sketch challenge. There were 3 guidelines:
- Make a thank you card
- with CHOCOLATE or other browns and
- using Beate's sketch
I would like to say Thank you to  our lovely hostesses for this challenge.  What do you think, could this be the three of them in about 30 years?

Friday Fun 51 Think Pink

Kim is the hostess for our October challenges.  Our first challenge is to make a pink card in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Pink has to be the main color.  This was a hard one for me....NOT.

I fell in love with this stamp from Inky Antics as soon as I saw it.  My stamping buddies had taken me out to lunch for my Birthday in spring and bought me a tiara.  I forgot that I had the tiara on and stopped to get gas in the minivan on the way home, that must have turned a few heads.  Then when I got home my girls were about to fight over the tiara so I told them it was mine and put it on.  I forgot that I was wearing it again, and after bed time caught a reflection of myself as I was vacuuming and STILL wearing the tiara.

Since this card is for Breast Cancer Awareness Month I want something catchy to put as the inside greeting.  How is "Give Yourself the Royal Treatment, Feel Your Boobies."

If you want to play along please use Keyword FFC51 and provide a link in the comment section here.  Don't forget to check out the other Friday Fun Chicks creations.
