Friday Fun Challenge #25

We have a great inspiration challenge this week. Sara is our hostess this week and she challenged us to use the following book cover as our inspiration.

I love the rich blues with just that tiny pop of red. In fact, I loved it so much I made 2 cards.

I diminished my supply of cards last year sending them off to the troops, and have only been able to make what I had to use. Now I am ready to rebuild my supply.

This was actually a pretty fun card to make. The background is just the large flower from Fifth Avenue Floral stamped many times in Pacific Point ink. Then I got out my Aqua Painter and watercolored the flower with ink from my ink pad.

Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral
Paper: Pacific Point, Whisper White, Blue Bayou
Ink: Pacific Point, Brilliance Graphite Black, Blue Bayou, Riding Hood Red

Friday Fun Challenge #24

I am thrilled to be the newest member of the Friday Fun Challenge Team. I have taken way too long of a break from stamping and been working on specific projects lately and am happy to have the challenges to get me back to creating for me (and to share with you.)

Now to the challenge. This week's challenge is brought to you by Sherry.

Choose one of the outfits on this page and design a card around it. The site is NY & Co….my favorite clothing store. These are some of the new Spring clothes so hopefully you can come up with something fun and fresh.

These were my two favorite shirts:

City Stretch Check French Cuff Shirt in Bouncing Yellow

City Stretch Printed French Cuff Shirt in Sheltering Green

Here is the card that I came up with inspired by these shirts.

The colors reflect the colors in the shirts and the dsp is inspired by the pattern, I am so grateful that the colors happened to work out. If you look at the shirts there are buttons on the french cuffed sleeves, hence I added the buttons to the fold of the card.

Happy St Patrick's Day!

Hope you all had a fantastic day today celebrating St Patrick's Day. I got to meet up with the Ft Meade ladies today for some lunch and shopping. I just couldn't get together and let everyone leave empty handed so I made some goody bags last night.

I made some shamrock spritz cookies and packaged them up in a cello bag.

I used Riley Moose on this cute bag topper and colored him with my Copics. I am realizing that while I have a large variety of markers it is now time for me to start collecting more colors for shading. I am also happy to have finally used some of my St Pat's ribbon that has been in my stash for the past 3 years.

Now look at the bag topper itself. Do you see the layers? I didn't use the Top Note die, instead I found a very similar shape in the Accent Essentials cartridge for my Cricut. I can now make the cute projects that everyone else is making AND use layers. I just saved myself some money by having the Cricut. Now I know how I will finance those new Copics.

Paper: Certainly Celery, Green Galore, PTI white, Delicate Dots dsp by SU!

Bella Weekend

Happy Second Anniversary to Emily over at Stamping Bella. I love these great high quality stamps and really enjoy using them and so do many other people. In just two years Emily has been able to create a sisterhood of Bella Stampers. Thank You Em for all of your hard work. There is still time to join in the Bellaversary Challenges over on SplitcoastStampers in the Stamping Bella Member Company Forum. You have until 8pm Central time to be entered in to win prizes for your creations.

It just so happened that a small group of us decided to get together for a Bella Shoe Box Swap this weekend, not even realizing that it was her Birthday. I am happy to show you all of the cards we created. It was a lot of fun, a lot of coloring, a lot of chatting. Enjoy:

Giving Thanks

One of the things I am most thankful for is our house and our neighbors. After living on a military base for so many years we got used to not really knowing our neighbors because it seemed like the minute we got to know them they moved again. Now that we have a home it feels like we really have roots here in the community. I am truly grateful for my neighbors and the support they have given us in the past year and a half that we have lived here. Today, to show our thanks in a very small way I baked mini loaves of pumpkin bread and naturally had to package them up and stamp in some way, how else would they know it was from me :) I followed the bread box tutorial by TechnoStamper Mary Jo Price-Williams.

The green plastic wrap was a little unfortunate, it kinda makes the bread look a little funky, but I promise it was yummy.
