Operation Write Home Midweek Throwdown

Hi all.  I have a very exciting post to share with you today.  I have a couple of my cards over on the Operation Write Home (OWH) Stars and Stamps blog today.  This week’s challenge is to make cards suitable for our Hero’s to mail home to kids.  I usually try to include several of these in may packages that I send, because I know how much the kids really appreciate getting cards when Mom or Dad are far away from home.

I used two of the Chloe images from InStyle Stamps, Cupcake Chloe and Fairy Chloe,  and OWH S&S Sketch #8.

Let’s see what kind of kids card you can make.  Be sure to provide a link to your work on the Stars and Stamps Blog.

Thanks for stopping bye.  I’ll be back at 3:00 with more InStyle Stamps samples.

Royal Kat TUESDAY

Welcome to Royal Kat Tuesday Blog Hop!  If you are starting here, you need to go back to Queen Kat Designs Blog and start at the beginning to see what everyone else has created for you.  You should have landed here from Keely's blog.

We have a fun sketch to work with today and here is my take on it.

I used the Birds of a Feather stamp set today and my Craft Stixx.  I love little lady bugs.  We call our youngest our LOVE BUG and she has lots of lady bug accessories, so this card would be perfect for her birthday.  The Craft Stixx are so much fun.  I ran mine across a white craft pad to change the color to go with my black and white card.  I also scored the the stick with my craft blade and then snapped off the end so the stick was the perfect length.  I think these are one of the coolest products I have seen in a while.  They are a fun way to add a sentiment to your card.

Now hop on over to Erika's blog and check out the Queen Kat Designs Store to pick up some new Rubbah!  The Queen Kat Vicki has been working on several new lines of stamps.

Friday Fun--Rock On

Hello!  What a week we have had.  This week there are only a couple of us playing along.  As a group we have a new job, new house, one hubby's birthday, one kids birthday and it is flipping HOT!!!!  So forgive us for the shortened hop this week.

Our theme was to make a Birthday card for a young man.  Personally, I think this is the hardest theme out there.  So, here is my attempt at a young mans card.

Details
Stamps: Unity KOTM April 2010
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, White, Rockstar Stack
Ink: Rich Cocoa-Memento, Copic Markers
Accessories: Copic ABS, Black Wire

So now you can go see what Sara has done today.  And we will all be back up and running next week (unless the east coast heat wave continues and we are all shriveled up.)

Royal Kat TUESDAY

Welcome to my first Royal Kat TUESDAY blog hop.  Rather than having two small hops each week we are now combining forces and having one large hop each Tuesday.  You should have hopped here from Keely's blog, if not, you will want to go back to the Queen Kat Designs Blog and start from the beginning.  You don't want to miss out on one bit of this talent.

Here is my take on this week's sketch using Build A Bird.

Details
Stamps:Build A Bird
Paper: Neenah Solar White, More Mustard, Perhaps-BasicGrey
Ink: Memento Black
Accessories: Happy Stixx, Grosgrain Ribbon

Aren't those Happy Stixx wonderful.  They are tiny popsicle sticks with phrases etched into them.  Very fun to work with on my projects.

Now hop on over to Erika's blog to see what she has created.  Don't forget to check out new products at Queen Kat Designs Store tomorrow.
