Have a great weekend
It’s April 15th so Sherry challenged:
It’s Tax Day and since you have to FILE by today I want you to make a FILE Folder Notebook.
Tutorial here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/filefoldernotebook/
I made mine super simple and a little masculine. My husband will actually use these little notebooks and padfolios when we are working on household projects. The receipts and paint samples etc can go on one side and he can write down all the measurements on the other. I think he will appreciate using this one more than one with flowers and ribbon on it :)
I know that Christi has hers up as well, but I think the other girls had problems with supplies so they may be filing late ;)
Ugh! I am still down and out with this bug and I think the kids are getting it too so I apologize that I have not stamped anything yet for the Color Challenge over at the InStyle Stamps Blog. I did want to be sure to show you the color inspiration piece though:
Some great colors to pull out of this one. I hope you are enjoying your day and as soon as I can get back to the craft table I will be showing you what I come up with.
Hey guys. I have a card for you today and I combined it with yesterday’s FFC, so it’s a two-fer. But it counts because Sherry is on the Etsy Inspired Design Team too :)
Shop:
Think Fast Designs (Kim Kesti's Etsy shop) Kim is offering 10% off with the code "THINKFASTPLEASE"
Winner Prize
Winners choice of one of her Vintage Pendant Necklaces
Sponsor:
Nikki Sivils www.nikkisivils.com
Winner prize:
One Niki Sivils "collection" pack (paper and embellies)!
Now for my card:
As I stated earlier I combined this with Sherry’s 37 challenge yesterday. Three ribbons and 7 embellishments. I hope that parts of twine and lace count as ribbon, and I used the needle and the pink pearls as my 7 embellishments. I actually started this card with the pink pearls and built the card around them.
Here is the piece I was inspired by in Kim’s shop:
Isn’t that gorgeous? I love it!

Have a great week :)
It’s Sneak Week over at the InStyle Stamps Blog. I used this month’s sketch to make a card for you.
Here is the sketch so that you can play along:
And with the scraps of the Green at Heart from BasicGrey I made another card.
The stamp set is called Patty’s Appreciation and has several adorable stamps to help you say Thank You. Be sure to stop by and put it in your basket on Friday.
Guess what? I am the Guest Designer this month over at the Etsy Inspired Challenge. Pretty cool, right!
This week’s inspiration store is XS Baggage & Co
They are offering a prize of a gadget keeper to one lucky person this week and a coupon of 10% off for all that visit using the code “inspired”
The sponsor this week is Wax Fruit Company
They will be giving away a gift certificate to one lucky winner this week.
Here is the Geek Sleeve that I used for inspiration this week:
I liked the ruffle and the green color. I was so inspired by the fabric that I didn’t use any designer paper on the card, but used fabric instead.
Be sure to check out the Design Team's Blogs for more inspiration so you can get your creative juices flowing and win one of those great prizes!

Hiya. I know, 2 posts in one day. WOW! Today we were to make a bookmark. I happened to make a bookmark as a sample at CHA, so I cheated a little and am showing you that. :)
The name of the stamp set is Tia and Cuddles from InStyle Stamps. I made the ribbon extra long so that you can find your page easily. The bookmarks actually fold over your page and I have thin magnets on the inside so that even if your book gets dropped the bookmark will stay put.
Check out what the other Friday Fun Chicks have done:
Sara is back with us :)
Sherry
Christi
and Jimmi has a brand new stamping blog and a separate shopping blog. HOW COOL IS THAT?
Hippity Hoppity Spring is in the air with the InStyle Stamps Chicks today. You should have hopped here from Axa’s Blog, if not you want to go back to the InStyle Stamps Blog to start at the beginning so you don’t miss any of the loveliness these ladies have created today.
Here is my simple little card:
I used the last of my sample pack of Bazzil’s Grandma’s Feather Bed pack. Bummer!!! But I also used the first of my bakers twine from The Twinery YAY! The flowers are from Tia and Cuddles He Has Risen set.
Next you should go to Sherry to see what she has for you.
It is InSpiration challenge day over at the InStyle Stamps blog today.
The InSpiration piece is pretty cool:
When I saw the lines of the house and the levels it reminded me of basket weave. So here is my little basket:
So I mimicked the colors a little by using the craft and the green and the golden egg candies reminded me of the glowing lights in the house. I thought instead of the typical grass in the basket some cotton balls would be a fun play on the sheep. What do EWE think? Baaa-aaa-aaa. Be sure to check out the InStyle Stamps Blog and show us what you come up with.
Today’s challenge Christi says: This weekend is Daylight Savings. Today use numbers on your project. You get bonus points, if you actually use a clock. ;o) No bonus points for me, oh well. I knew right away that I would use my Cupcake designer paper by BasicGrey as it has a sheet with numbers on it. Then, yesterday I saw that "31 Cupcake Inspired Creations" on FaveCrafts.com was released by Maria Nerius. There are some seriously cute projects in there, and it’s FREE. So then I wanted to make a cupcake card and guess what, part of the Cupcake dp has some sprinkles paper. So this is what I did:
I used my Once Upon A Princess cartridge and used my Cricut to cut out the cupcake and the #3. I used my Nestabilities for the ovals and traced the cut lines with my blue gel pen. The larger sprinkles were colored with the blue gel pen and then a drop of Tiara Stickles were added on top for more dimension and a sugary look.
See what the other Fabulous Friday Fun chicks have done:
And you can download “31 Cupcake Inspired Creations E-Book” here:
I hope you enjoy your weekend. I’m hoping to get outside at some point and to craft some too.
The weather has become much more mild here and the skies have turned from grey to blue, SPRING is almost here!!!! Today over at the InStyle Stamps blog we have a great springy color challenge.
Here is my take on this. I used BasicGrey’s Hopschotch paper which has all the colors in it.
The image is from Tia and Cuddles He Has Risen.
This card uses the following additional challenges:
Pile It On- Up Up and Away-Inspired by things in the sky
Tuesday Throwdown – Using Scraps (Only the Pink Pirouette was cut from a full sheet of cs)
My Time to Craft Challenge- Use Jewels
Crop Stop Challenge-Sketch and use Spellbinders products
Let’s see what you’ve got! Be sure to share a link to your challenge card on the InStyle Stamps blog.
Nana nana nana-nana nana NA, Na na nana-na-na HOP HOP HOP! Ok that’s my best attempt at singing the Bunny Hop. I hope you are enjoying the Operation Write Home Bunny Hop so far. You should have hopped here from the InStyle Stamps Blog, if not you will want to go back to the Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps Blog to get the full list of hop stops.
Remember if you would like to donate any Easter cards the deadline is March 18 and Mother's Day cards must be to the shippers by March 31. This helps insure that the cards can make it to their destinations in plenty of time for our troops to send home to their loved ones. If you have never sent cards to OWH before the list of their shippers and all the information you need to know can be found here.
I am a sucker for sketches. Did you know that you can find a new sketch for inspiration every Sunday on the Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps Blog? They have an index of all their sketches here.
I used last weeks sketch #54 for this card using Honey Bunny the freebie from the InStyle Stamps Blog:
And here is a Spring/Easter card using InStyle Stamps Tia and Cuddles He is Risen:
A few of my personal tips for sending in cards to Operation Write Home:
*Generic is a good thing. ~I tend to leave off sentiments so that cards can be used for any occasion. The second card here can really be used for Easter, Mother’s Day or any other time depending on the needs of the shippers.
*Use good quality adhesive around the outside edges of the panels. ~I have collected cards in the past to send in and seen many people use a lot of adhesive in the center of the layer but none on the edges. In the shipping and sorting process cards can get stacked and edges that are not stuck down well get caught and the layer will pop right off.
*Keep it simple. ~Embellishments can come off causing cards to go to the card hospital, and too much bulk on a card means fewer cards can be mailed in a box.
Now make sure you hop on over to Barb at http://papertherapyponderings.blogspot.com/
This week’s Friday Fun Challenge is brought to you by Christi. She has challenged us to make a card based on this book cover:
Here is my card. All the papers are from Stampin’ Up! and a sticker from SRM Stickers.
I know, clean and simple….Can you believe it?
Be sure to check out what Christi, Jimmi and Sherry have done too.
I’ll be back tomorrow for the Operation Write Home Bunny Hop. Be prepared for your fingers to get tired from hopping along to over 130 blogs for a great cause.
As promised, I am back with my sample for the InStyle Stamps sketch challenge and a peak at the new set “Tia and Cuddles He is Risen.”
Look how cute Cuddles is sitting there all innocently after tracking blue paint across the floors. Isn’t she adorable?
Here is a look at the basket from the set:
The polka dot pattern on my ribbon was a little too busy, so I used the back side of the ribbon to make the pattern more subtle. This card uses the new Grandma’s Feather Bed from Bazzill Basics Paper.
This set will be available for purchase in store on Friday.
Hi all! It’s the last Friday of the month so we are going to hop along with the InStyle Stamps design team today. You should have hopped here directly from the InStyle Stamps Blog, if not you will want to start there so you don’t miss anything. Also, I am combining my efforts and my project doubles for this week’s Friday Fun Challenge, and since I didn’t get a post up last week, I decided to incorporate that challenge in too.
The theme for this month’s hop is celebrating friends. I decided to make a little seed packet pouch because friends are like flowers, they each add a special bit of beauty and joy to your life.
The image is on a belly band which slides off and reveals the sentiment and the seed packet inside. This was a fast and fun project, but I hope you enjoy it.
Now you should hop over to Karin’s blog to see what she has created.
Also, be sure to stop by and see what the other Friday Fun Chicks have done with this week’s challenge to use PLAID on a card. Last week the challenge was to use at least 3 circles on your creation, the BasicGrey paper I chose for this project took care of both of those challenges. See what Jimmi, Sherry, and Christi have done.
It’s Wednesday, that means it’s challenge time at the InStyle Stamps blog.
Here is the InSpiration piece:
Let’s take a look at my card:
If you look closely you can see the microbeads I added coming from the watering can which makes it look a little like water.
I took inspiration from the window in the picture to create the layout. The decorative paper is from Bazzill’s new Grandma’s Feather Bed line and matches the wallpaper in the piece pretty well.
Please play along with us and you can win a prize. See the InStyle Stamps Blog for more details.
Happy Valentine’s Day!!! Today we are celebrating with style and hopping along a gazillion blogs. Thanks to Taylor Usry for organizing this hop filled with wonderfully talented ladies and awesome prizes from some great companies. To find out more information please see Taylor’s blog.
You should have hopped here from Jane Matsumoto’s Blog.
I decided that my girl’s teacher needs an extra special Valentine this year. I mean, she deals with 20ish 4 and 5 year olds every day for 6 hours and I know that I depend on her to give me a break from just 2 5 year olds. So what is the traditional Valentine’s gift? A dozen flowers. Here are my sweet caramel kiss dozen of flowers.
I gave my Cricut a work out today making these little hearts for the flowers and several other hearts for the kids to make Valentine’s at school tomorrow and Tuesday at their parties. (I’ll show you those later ;) )
