Friday Fun Flowers

This week our challenge was to make a card using flowers.  Easy right?  I had just bought stamps and dies from Heartfelt Creations while I was visiting Sherry and Jimmi, so I knew that I wanted to break them out for this challenge.

Isn’t it amazing what you can do with paper and ink?  Look at the details on the stamp and dies match up perfectly.  You need to be really precise with the dies, I probably need a bit more practice, but I am very happy with the results.

I followed sketch #295 from Splitcoast to make the card and a little lace and other than the flower it was easy peasy.

Check out what the rest of the girls have done

Taking a Break with Chloe

After such a busy week, Chloe needs to sit back and relax a bit.  Today I have a sample for you using the last of our images to be released Sitting Chloe.  She and all the images you have seen on the InStyle Stamps blog this week will be released tomorrow, Friday, September 24.  Here is the lady of the hour.

A special thanks to Glue Arts who has been sponsoring all the InStyle Stamps designers this week.  I am getting the hang of the Glue Glider Pro and can tell you that it will be great for taking to swaps and traveling with my supplies.  All the adhesive REALLY sticks, once it’s down it’s down.  A little in each of the corners and your panel is stuck in place.   I also learned the hard way that the Ribbon Adhesive means business.  There is no picking up your ribbon once it’s down.  Lastly, I used the U Cut It foam adhesive.  This was really cool.  I was able to cut small strips to go under the sentiment, assuring that it wont get caught on anything else and lift off when I put my cards in the storage box.

Tomorrow I will be back with my Friday Fun Challenge post and for the InStyle Stamps Blog Hop.

Chloe in Wonderland

It’s Release Week over at the InStyle Stamps Blog.  We have all been busy creating special projects for you to look at this week.  This week we were also sponsored by Glue Arts.  You always need adhesive and this stuff STICKS!  Here is my Wonderland creation.

When my girls saw this card they asked me why I colored her wrong.  I was enthusiastically told that she should be wearing blue with a white apron.  Oh well.

I used the Sasafrass Indie Girl decorative paper, lots of Nesties and of course my pink bling.  The Glue Arts Ribbon Adhesive is STRONG!  A little goes a long way and once it is down it is STUCK.  I also used the glue squares for the Prima Flowers and they are not moving.

All of our new releases will be available in the InStyle Stamps store on Friday, September 24.

Don't forget to comment on every new release post on the InStyle Stamps blog this week for a chance to win our awesome Glue Arts prize pack. And to be eligible to win a free digi from us, you just have to comment on our designer's InStyle Stamps posts this week. Not every designer will have a post every day - it's like a treasure hunt! The more comments you leave, the more chances you have to win a free digi image.

Sneak Peak

This week has been Sneak Peak Week (say that 3 times fast) over at InStyle Stamps Blog.  Each day we have given you an exclusive look at some new images that will become available next Friday, September 24.  Today we have a lovely image called Receiving Love.

I used BasicGrey’s Sugar Rush paper and followed Card Patterns Sketch #81.  The flowers were made using the peony set from Nestabilites.

Friday Fun—Think Pink

This week our challenge was to Think Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness.  Easy Peasy!  I already told you all about the Thank You cards I made for my wonderful sister-in-law.  Here are a few more.

Simple white card stock base with a layer or Pretty in Pink and a white panel on top.  I stamped and used a pink ribbon.  I wasn’t sure if actual ribbon would hold up, but even after being packed away my samples came out still looking nice, so I am sure they made it through the mail in decent shape.

Be sure to check out what the other Friday Fun Chicks did this week.

InSpiration Children’s Books

It’s InSpiration challenge time at InStyle Stamps Blog.  This month our challenge is to  create a card based on one of our favorite children’s books.  This was almost too easy.  As soon as I saw the  releases for this month I HAD to have Chloe in Wonderland.  I remember reading the Alice in Wonderland Golden Book as a child.  Well, not so much reading as looking at the pretty pictures.  All the colors are so bright and vibrant and Alice in her pretty blue dress and apron looks so serene in all the wildness that surrounds her.

FFC-Something Old Something New

I hope you all have plans for a great weekend ahead of you.  I know we will be VERY busy with picnics and back to school planning.

Our FFC theme this week is “Something old, something new.”  My Sister-In-Law, Barb asked me to make her some Thank You notes that she could send to the medical staff volunteers from the Cleveland Susan G Koman 3 Day Walk for the Cure.  Barb was one of the medical co-chairs for this even again this year.  I admire her dedication and know that she puts in a lot of hard work for the event.  She thought it would be fun to make cards with feet on them.  FEET!  If you know me, you know that feet are not my favorite thing, and to put them on a card was simply frightening to me.  I did get a new toy out of the deal.  I bought myself the Sure Cuts A Lot software for my Cricut (something new) and I paired it with some old Stampin’ Up! designer series papers and together they really did make a cute card with FEET.

See, CUTENESS!  I then realized that I have another cute card with feet on it in my gallery.

Those are my kids feet on Peanut’s baby announcement.  Happy 2nd Birthday Kerrington.   Your little toes are still the cutest I have ever seen.

InStyle Stamps September Sketch Challenge

Happy September!  I cannot believe that it is already September, where has the summer gone.  Today is sketch day over at the InStyle Stamps blog.  The design team was given a sketch with a twist this week.  Not only did we need to follow the sketch given, but it also had to be a T-Slide style card.  I followed the tutorial located here.

Here is my card:

Details:
Image: Kelli
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Old Olive, Neenah Solar White, BasicGrey Going Green
Ink: Copic Markers
Accessories:  White Prima Flowers, Copic ABS, Nestabilities, Green Flower Brad.

I used Kelli as my image she is available in the InStyle Stamps Store NOW!  I have so many friends that I could send this card to these days.  I swear I live on my computer and cell phone (I am behind the times and need a fancy phone that allows chatting ;) )

We would love for you to play along with our sketch challenge.  If your card is selected and you used an InStyle Stamp you will win 2 images from the InStyle Stamps Store, if you used a stamp from another company you will still be eligible to win one image from InStyle Stamps.
