Isn't that thread and sentiment adorable?  I love this color combination and the pattern on top of the dots is just very yummy and looks pretty much like the apron.  I was very excited when this all came together so well.

Getting Ready

Next weekend I am hosting a card making day to make cards to send to Operation Write Home.  If you want to come, let me know we can use more hands.  Here is a preview of some of the cards I have prepared for us to make.

This one was inspired by the butterfly card on the cover of Paper Crafts Magazine.

I am still working on more, and some of the cards you have seen me post lately are also ready to go.

So what do my kids do while I am making up card kits?
Mackenzie made me this card with Sock Monkey.  I'm impressed she got the hat on the head, rattle in his hand and present in his lap....the rest was stamped before she added the monkey so it's a bit random...but not bad for 4 years old.
And Reganne made me this flower with a few scraps I had let them have and some pieces she cut out.

I think she is an artist in training.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and I'll be back tomorrow morning with the Monday Blog Hop for Queen Kat Designs.

Royal Kat Monday - Color Me Happy

Hi all!  It's Monday again and that means it's time to Hop into the week with a Royal Kat Monday Blog Hop.  You should have hopped over from Wynneth's blog, if not then you want to start from the beginning at the QKD blog to see all the lovely creations for this week.

The Challenge:  Our challenge this week was to use the colors yellow, blue, and green with any stamp set.  I decided to dig out the Lime Rickey which has all these colors already in it.  I love these little birds and was inspired by the weekend crop to make a card with flowers although I don't have any floral stamps from QueenKat, I didn't let that stop me.  I decided to let the sentiment take center stage and use some paper flowers to jazz it up.

Stamps: Greetings #1
Paper: Certainly Celery, Lime Rickey-BasicGrey, White

Accessories: Gem Brad, Sizzex Flower Die

This weeks challenge was to create a card with Earth Day in mind and to use something "natural" on it, a tree, flower, something nature related.  Don't all faint, I actually made a Clean and Simple card for this one, and I LOVE IT!

I will be making this card at my Card Blitz on May 1 to support Operation Write Home.  I think it will appeal to men looking for cards to send home.

Royal Kat Monday - Pop Dragon

Happy Monday!!  It's new release week at Queen Kat Designs and we have a great sketch to work with so I hope you have hopped here from Wynneth's blog, if not, you will want to start at the beginning at the Queen Kat Designs Blog so you don't miss a thing.

Here is the sketch we have to work with this week:

And this is my take on it:
Isn't Pop Dragon ADORABLE?  We have been blowing a lot of bubbles around here this week with all the great weather.  My girls LOVE bubbles, so I really wanted to capture the essence of the bubbles with this card.  I love the circles in this background paper and rather than flowers I added some ghost bubbles.

My favorite part about the bubbles is that they are recycled material.  You know those plastic packages that are impossible to open?  Next time you get one that has a flat spot to it cut it up and keep it.  Then you can run it through your die cut machine and create your own ghost bubbles or flowers or anything else.

Now hop on over to see what Keely has done this week and don't forget to stop bye the Queen Kat Store on Wednesday to get all the new releases.

Details

Stamps: Pop Dragon
Paper: White, Gable Green, Melon Mambo, plastic packaging
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers
Accessories: Eyelets, Fringe, Standard Circle Nestabilities
